The Center for Community-Based and Applied Health Research aims to promote collaborative, interdisciplinary, applied health research that engages, empowers, and mobilizes communities. Combining the expertise of research faculty and community stakeholders, the Center is dedicated to identifying sustainable approaches for behavioral medicine applications to community health problems. Community partners include but are not limited to, Head Start and early childhood centers, schools, clinics, and churches. The Center advances and complements community-based research lines that address issues related to obesity, diabetes, HIV, and other chronic conditions.
