Your department has incredible students, faculty and events. Social media is how we share that with the world (and prospective students, alumni and donors).

Quick tips for great posts:

  • Include faces when possible—they connect best!
  • Use clear, well-lit photos (avoid clutter)
  • Portrait orientation works best for Stories

Avoid posts that feel like:

  • A flyer pasted into a square with no explanation.
  • A post that looks like an internal email.
  • A photo with no faces or meaning (e.g., empty room with
    “event today!”)

Recommended posts:

  • Group photos and faces> the back of peoples heads
  • Flyers = great in Stories, not as a standalone feed post
  • Don’t worry about being “perfect.” Being relatable and relevant matters most.
  • Cool lab spaces or hands-on learning
  • Deadline reminders (with visuals)
  • Student spotlights and recognitions
  • Events WITH context: “Free pizza, come meet recruiters!”
