The College for Health, Community and Policy (HCAP) is pleased to offer limited undergraduate student awards for travel during the academic year. Applications are now being accepted for awards up to $500.

Deadlines for submission of all application materials:

• September 30 (Fall or later travel)
• January 13 (Spring or later travel)
• April 30 (Summer travel)

Eligibility for this award is contingent on the student presenting their paper at the conference (i.e., they must appear on the official conference program). Award must be received before travel is booked.


All applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Active undergraduate student in an HCAP program
• Enrolled during the semester of travel
• Good academic standing

Application steps:

  1. Complete the application online that includes a one-page statement that addresses the following:
    • Title and abstract of presentation
    • A brief statement describing how these funds will enrich your graduate experience and support your success as a student.
    • A detailed budget outlining an estimate of expected expenses
  2. A letter of support from an HCaP faculty member – directly uploaded to form application.
Complete the application

Awards will be determined by academic performance (i.e., academic standing, GPA, progress toward degree, etc.) and review of submitted materials. Amounts awarded will depend on number of applicants.

Award monies can be used for conference related expenses, such as travel to/from regional, national or international conferences, conference registration, accommodations, and other related expenses. Please note that all flights booked require the use of the CONCUR travel system (please contact your department for further assistance).
