UTSA and HCAP offer several scholarships for students studying psychology.

In most cases, applications open each year in February and close on April 1. Other deadlines will be noted in the description. To apply, create a profile in the UTSA Scholarship Hub.

To apply, the student must submit a maximum of 2 pages, in PDF format, the following information:

  • The project title and name of advisor/mentor
  • A brief summary of the project
  • Whether the study has been approved by the IRB or if it is pending
  • Targeted start date
  • Targeted sample size
  • Form of compensation to the participants (e.g., cash, gift cards)
  • Total amount of compensation (in dollars) including how much of it is covered by other sources (e.g., mentor’s grant) and how much is still needed

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be enrolled on a full-time basis (minimum 12 credit hours per semester) at the time of the award and throughout the award period
  • Have completed at least 12 credit hours of coursework at UTSA
  • Be an undergraduate student actively pursuing a degree in psychology at UTSA
  • Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25
  • Be active in research in psychology (attach statement of research activities with research professor’s signature included)

  • Must have graduated from a high school in Webb County, Texas or be a current resident of Webb County at the time of application – may require proof of residency.
  • Must plan to enroll on a full-time basis and be actively pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree within the College for Health, Community and Policy at UTSA.
  • Master or PhD degree in any of the following:

  • Undergraduate degree in any of the following:
