We are heartbroken to share that one of our faculty members, Dr. Katheryn Eads, passed away last weekend during the Hill Country flooding.
Dr. Eads was a senior lecturer in the Department of Psychology who brought compassion, insight and dedication to everything she did. Her loss has been felt across our college community, and the UTSA community as a whole. Our thoughts are with Dr. Eads’s family, friends, students and colleagues during this tremendously difficult time. We will keep Dr. Eads in our hearts as we process our collective grief and mourn for our community.
A virtual moment of reflection will take place at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 9. Then, at noon on Friday, July 11, an on-campus reflection will be held.
To support each other during this difficult time, special drop-in hours will be offered by Wellness 360 Counseling for students who are struggling with grief and loss. Faculty and staff resources are available through the Employee Assistance Program.
This week, the Monument Lights and Student Union lights on the Main Campus will glow solemn white in recognition of all those from across the region who have been impacted by the tragedy.
