As HCaP continues to build its Student Success Center, Heather Frazer has joined the staff as its Assistant Director.
A native San Antonian, Frazer began that career in higher education at UTSA in 2011, as a Supplemental Instruction Leader with the Tomás Rivera Center for Student Success.
After receiving her B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2013, Frazer became an Academic Success Coach. She earned her M.Ed. in Student Development and Leadership in Higher Ed from Angelo State University in 2017. During her graduate program, she received the Outstanding Graduate Student Award and earned a Level II Learning Center Professional Certification from the National College Learning Center Association.
"My biggest hope for the HCaP Student Success Center is that we will empower students, and equip them to reach their goals even beyond graduation," Frazer said.
Most recently, before joining HCaP, Frazer served as the Interim Associate Director for Academic Coaching in the Student Development, Leadership & Belonging programs. There, she oversaw the daily operations of the Academic Success Coaching program, supervised a team of Academic Peer Coaches, developed curriculum for the College Success Seminar 1201, and taught two sections of the course.
Frazer remains passionate about learning, lives for those "aha" moments in education, and is excited to share those moments with HCaP students.
