Brittany Zaring-Hinkle , a second year student in the Psychology Ph.D. program, recently completed the Frontiers in Addiction Research and Pregnancy (FrARP) training course at the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. The training goals were to provide courses in skills development, mentored addiction research, and ongoing career support resulting in comprehensive, sophisticated training in clinical and translational strategies for addressing the current challenges in addiction during pregnancy, for designing better therapies for the future, and for launching and sustaining successful careers in substance abuse, pregnancy, pediatrics and related fields. Brittany's faculty advisor is Dr. James H. Bray and her dissertation topic is positive emotion dysregulation in pregnant and postpartum women with substance use disorders. She plans to graduate in May 2021.
