The Population Association of America (PAA) will host its 2019 annual meeting April 10 – April 13, 2019 in Austin, Texas. The PAA annual meeting gathers demographers, social and health scientists, public health professionals, students, and sociologists from the United States and abroad. Senior, mid, and early-career demographers have the opportunity to present their research in oral and poster sessions, hear of others’ findings, and network with their peers and colleagues. Topics range from migration to sexual reproductive health to race and ethnicity and gender issues.

The Department of Demography has 17 appearances in this year’s meeting. Faculty members and doctoral students from UTSA will discuss topics on health and mortality, grandparents’ wealth, migration and fertility, intimate partner violence, and much more. Below is a full list of participants from the UTSA Department of Demography.
