Assistant Professor Jelena Todic in the Department of Social Work and Assistant Professor Jennifer Scott at Louisiana State University provided recommendations to improve the health of two unincorporated communities in Victoria County, TX. These professors, both community health and social work experts, were able to receive grant funding to conduct their research to improve the health outcomes in Bloomington and Placedo. Their report highlighted steps for better trash pickup services, stronger communication and more community spaces. Todic and Scott shared their findings at commissioners court.
