David Huete is the Sr. Director of Transformational Support Services at Haven for Hope. David's current focus is the homeless population, working with Haven and community partners to locate and house to most vulnerable. He has over 15 years experience working in homeless and adult mental health services — beginning work at a youth homeless shelter in downtown Houston, leading a mental health outreach team in Corpus Christi, to his current work at Haven for Hope.
Some of his accomplishments at Haven for Hope include helping develop and implement a Coordinated Entry system for the community, guiding the development of a highly successful and recognized Jail Outreach program, and most importantly reducing barriers and increasing shelter access for individuals and families across our community. David has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Loyola University New Orleans and a Master of Social Work from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
"UTSA has not only helped me internalize the values of social work into my practice, it has given me the skills to affect change on a macro and community wide scale."
