Research Criminologist, RTI International, Criminology and Criminal Justice
Travis J. Meyers, PhD, is a Research Criminologist in the Corrections and Reentry Research Program at RTI International. Dr. Meyers’s research interests include corrections and correctional policy, the use and impact of restrictive housing, offender rehabilitation, and program evaluation. He holds a part-time appointment as a lecturer in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at The University of Texas at San Antonio. He has extensive experience working with local and state correctional agencies to conduct qualitative, quantitative, and program evaluation studies with a focus on improving outcomes for correctional staff and incarcerated people. Dr. Meyers’s work has been published in a number of outlets, including Criminology, Social Science & Medicine, Journal of Mental Health, and Journal of Criminal Justice, among other crime and policy journals.
