Assistant Chief, Uvalde Police Department, Criminology and Criminal Justice
Assistant Chief Mike Davis brings over 27 years of distinguished service in law enforcement and public safety. A San Antonio native, he holds degrees in Criminal Justice from San Antonio College and UTSA, and a Master’s in Occupational Workforce Leadership from Texas State University, along with a certification in Professional Ethics.
Davis has served in diverse roles across university, municipal, and county law enforcement, rising from Patrol Officer to Chief. His leadership experience includes overseeing training and policy as the Deputy Chief/Director of the Bexar County Sheriff’s Academy, supervising at the Alamo Area Regional Law Enforcement Academy, and commanding patrol operations in Shavano Park, Texas.
As a certified Advanced Police Instructor, Davis has trained thousands of officers across the U.S. and abroad in leadership, investigations, and tactical operations. He has contributed to U.S. Department of State International Narcotics and Law Enforcement training programs across Mexico and founded Archangel Professional Leadership, a consulting firm focused on ethical leadership, change management, and homeland security collaboration.
He has also served as an Assistant Professor of Instruction at UTSA, as a Criminal District Attorney Investigator, where he supported behavioral threat assessment initiatives at the Southwest Texas Fusion Center (BTAG). Currently, he serves as Assistant Chief in Uvalde, a Fusion Liaison Officer with the Southwest Texas Fusion Center (BTAG), a Master Trainer with the US DHS National Threat Evaluation and Reporting (NTER) program, and an online Criminal Justice Lecturer at UT San Antonio.
