Description
In this workshop, participants will learn how to evaluate and choose between two widely used GIS tools for academic work: QGIS, free and open-source software compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux, and ESRI ArcGIS Pro, a Windows-only industry standard. We will cover key GIS concepts like data organization, mapping projection, and GIS workflows like joining demographic data to historic boundaries. By the end of this session, you will be able to decide which tool best fits your research and projects' needs.
