Scholarship applications are open February 1 through April 1.
Applications are now being accepted for awards up to $500.
Deadlines for submission of all application materials:
• September 30 (Fall or later travel)
• January 31 (Spring or later travel)
• April 30 (Summer travel)
Eligibility for this award is contingent on the student presenting their paper at the conference (i.e., they must appear on the official conference program). Award must be received before travel is booked.
All applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Active undergraduate student in an HCAP program
• Enrolled during the semester of travel
• Good academic standing
Application steps:
Awards will be determined by academic performance (i.e., academic standing, GPA, progress toward degree, etc.) and review of submitted materials. Amounts awarded will depend on number of applicants.
Award monies can be used for conference related expenses, such as travel to/from regional, national or international conferences, conference registration, accommodations, and other related expenses. Please note that all flights booked require the use of the CONCUR travel system (please contact your department for further assistance).
Deadline to apply is April 5th, 2025.
This competition is open to all HCAP students who will graduate in Spring 2025 or later. The competition is limited to papers submitted for Summer 2024, Fall 2024 or Spring 2025 HCAP courses. Only papers sponsored by the faculty member teaching the class for which the paper was written will be accepted.
Submissions are limited to papers related to scholarly research. This includes original research or reviews of existing research or literature. Thought papers or creative writing efforts are not appropriate submissions for this competition. Only one submission per student will be accepted.
Submitted papers are limited to 30 double-spaced pages. Completed dissertations, theses, exit papers, and projects may be submitted only if shortened to this length.
The purpose of this award is to recognize HCAP students who have built a record of scholarship, leadership, and service to UTSA, the college, and/or the community. In order to nominate, please submit the attached form, along with the following:
