Neil Hull, adjunct professor of Kinesiology at UTSA, has been awarded the prestigious
Berticelli Award
from the largest soccer coaching organization in the US, the United Soccer Coaches.
Hull will be officially presented with the award at the association's annual Awards Ceremony on January 13 as part of the 2021 United Soccer Coaches Digital Convention.
The nomination was made through votes from the United Soccer Coaches National Academy Staff. For the last two years, Hull has been the runner up.
"Receiving this prestigious award is a credit to all the coaches and players I've connected with over the last 20 years," Hull said. "Humbling, to me, is being associated with previous winners - many of whom have Olympic, World Cup and National recognition."
Hull has been with UTSA for five years and teaches courses such as Coaching Methodologies and Soccer Science. He also works with the UTSA women's soccer team as a performance and sports psychology coach. In addition, Hull serves as the director of player development for Player's Academy of Soccer Skills (PASS). He has trained and mentored athletes in the NFL, NBA, MLB, Navy SEALS, West Point, Annapolis and Airforce Academies.
