volunteers delivering furniture

Veterans are helping hundreds of recently rehoused veterans by facilitating and delivering donations of household items and furniture.

VetStrong is a 501(c)(3) organization spearheaded by alumnus James Pobanz, MSW. He saw a need to provide furniture and supplies to recently rehoused veterans. Other veterans, UTSA alumni, and city leaders decided to join in and help. James garnered enough community support to assist veterans and families in Bexar County. After the growing response, James decided to sign up with TXServes San Antonio, a coordinated network of public, private and nonprofit organizations serving veterans, service members and their families in San Antonio, and Bexar County. TXServes provides thousands of service members, veterans and their families access to a continuum of providers for emergency services, employment, recreation, financial capabilities, and much more. When someone reaches out for help for donation of furniture, TXServes send a request to all nonprofits who deliver this service. VetStrong can accept the request and help those in need. Thanks to the generous support of the community and city leaders, VetStrong was able to acquire a warehouse to store all their donations and assist many more rehoused vets.

VetStrong seeks to provide furniture for previously homeless U.S. veterans. VetStrong is located in San Antonio, Texas - Military City, USA. Its mission is to strengthen and enrich the lives of veterans and their families by turning their houses into homes. VetStrong believes the donations represent more than just objects. The furnishings enhance the quality of lives for vets and their families by providing spaces that help the veteran community thrive. A home is more than just an edifice. It is a place where one seeks comfort, strength, and solace.
