All applications are handled through UTSA’s online application system hosted by the UTSA Graduate School. The online application system and instructions for using the system can be found by clicking here. Please note that each graduate program has its own application procedure. If you have applied for other UTSA graduate programs, you will still need to apply separately for the Master of Science in Psychology program.
When you login to the application system, be sure to specify the program for which you are applying (i.e., the MS in Psychology). This will ensure you see the correct instruction pages and that your application gets sent to the correct admissions committee.
During the application process, you will be asked to enter the year for which you are applying, the program option (thesis or non-thesis), the timeline on which you hope to complete the degree, and to rank your major areas of interest. After that, you will see several upload pages. The system allows you to upload one file for each upload page. Only two of these are required: Relevant Experience and Background and Statement of Goals and Interests. There is a third page should you feel the need to upload additional documents, but it is not required. More information on each section can be found in the application system itself. If you do not see the pages above in the application system, you might want to go back to the beginning and make sure you selected the right program.

Things to keep in mind when writing your “research” statement:
Except for extraordinary circumstances, we only accept applications for Fall semester. This is due to course sequencing requirements – our Spring semester classes for first year students have Fall semester prerequisites.
The main deadline for Fall admission is March 1 for both domestic and international students. As noted on the Graduate’s School’s deadlines page, applications received after March 1 and not later than May 15 may be considered if space remains in the cohort. However, only applications received by March 1 are guaranteed consideration. Applicants interested in receiving financial aid should submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to the appropriate offices by the university deadline.
We strongly recommend applying well in advance of the deadline, especially for those hoping to receive financial aid. Space is limited, and obviously we cannot admit people once capacity is reached. Applying well in advance of the deadline also helps protect against issues such as slow delivery of transcripts, GRE scores, or letters of recommendation. In addition, we recommend taking the GRE one to two months prior to the submission deadline to ensure timely receipt of scores.
